Dallas TX:: Taylor Publishing,, 1987.. First Edition. Hardcover. Quarto, about 12.25 inches (31.5 cm) tall, in bright white embossed composition covers. 210 pages illustrated by photographs, mostly black and white for the first third of the book but otherwise color. A nicely produced history of the Vail Valley that being a premier skiing and resort community after World War II. The book begins with the early exploration of the area by the Hayden Survey, including William Henry Jackson photographs. President Ford retired there after his Presidency. The front pastedown endpaper shows wrinkling, a binding flaw. Gift note on the free front endpaper. Otherwise a bright, unworn, and soundly bound copy. The jacket spine is sunned (from pale yellow to white) but it is otherwise crisp and unworn.
