E-112: Forward Association. Very Good. 1947. Hardcover. Hardcover. 4to. Oblong. Forward Association, New York. 1947. 575 pgs. Illustrated with 530 b&w photographs. First Edition/First Printing. Text in Yiddish and English. No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks, binding tight and solid, boards clean with no wear present. A defining work on the lost Jewish communities of Europe. Documenting Jewish life in Eastern Europe (and with text in English and Yiddish) , this work was an early post-war portrayal of these communities within the obvious context that they were gone forever, some with almost no trace of their thousand year histories remaining. Abramovitch himself was a refugee from this world--he was a leader of the Mensheviks in exile who worked at the Jewish Daily Forward and was also active in the Bund. E-112; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 575 pages .
