London.: Vanity Fair. January to June 1884.. Bound volume of individual issues of the magazine from January to June 1884, 15 ¾ x 10 ½ inches; 382 pages. Twenty-six color lithographic images by various artists (including SPY) on sheets 15 ½ x 10 ½ inches. Spine of volume perished boards worn and the rear board hanging on by a thread; although binding remains tight. Foxing to front and rear endpapers and adjacent pages, not affecting most pages or images, light horizontal crease to images (presumably from prior to binding being lightly folded in the mail) but this is not distracting or noticeable from the front of the image. Off-set to several images noted. The list that follows contains the caption to the illustration followed by the fuller text identification of the individual portrayed. "I hear that Miss Hogarth, the surviving executrix and legal representative of Charles Dickens, has taken the necessary steps to prevent the republication in this country of Dicken's confidential letters to his solicitor...") .
