No publishing details, [Strassburg Johann Reinhard Gruninger], 1498.. INCUNABLE, SECOND EDITION(?) FIRST PART OF TWO ONLY, 1498. Small 4to bound in fours and sixes, signatures: a6, b-c4, d6, e-f4, g6, h-k4, l6; approximately 200 x 145 mm, 8¼ x 5¾ inches, 4 woodcuts to title page, larger black Gothic letters as headings to poems, 52 leaves only, lacks part 2, leaves 53-128, bound in modern wine coloured half morocco, marbled boards, gilt lettering and rules to spine, new endpapers. Tiny repair to outer margin of title page, small pale stain to outer margin of many pages, not affecting text, 1 lower corner has tiny tear, paper fault, pale age-browning to a few pages, last page has 1 line of manuscript note in red ink, all upper corners have been numbered in old ink: 309-360, the book may have been part of a Sammelband at sometime, 2 tipped in old catalogue descriptions on endpaper, a few small ink splashes to margins of last leaf, otherwise a very good copy of the first part only, religious poems, the second part contains secular poems. Some soiling to boards and extremities. Light foxing, some yellow staining to pages. Ex Libris Neathman Mill Library stamp on rear fly leaf. Tight boards, pages otherwise clean and crisp with decorated black and white initials. A near fine copy. A Dominican friar and writer, Remigio Nannini produced religious as well as secular works, and poetry. Nannini published "two collections of orations drawn by historians (the first, Military Orations collected by all the ancient and modern historians, Venice, 1557)" [Cantimori, Delio. Italian Encyclopedia, 1934]. Nannini also went on to publish the works of St. Thomas Aquinas (1570) at the request of Pope Pius the V.
