Includes the tachodometer, which was advertised in 1906 and later, and the hub odometer, which was advertised in 1912 and later. Curtis Hussey Veeder (1862-1943) was a mechanical engineer who in 1895 patented a cyclometer for measuring the distance traveled by bicycles and established the Veeder Manufacturing Co. in Hartford, Ct. The firm expanded to produce odometers, counters, tachodometers, and tachometers. It merged with the Root Co. to form Veeder-Root in 1928. Scarce. In Very Good+ Condition: lower corners slightly creased; head of spine sunned; pages are slightly foxed at upper edges; otherwise, clean and solid.
