About This Item

The First UK printing published by Faber, London in 1960. The BOOK is in Very Good++ or better condition. Light pushing at the spine ends. Blue top-stain present but faded. Some light toning to the text-block. Free from inscriptions. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good++ condition. Some rubbing to the folds and spine ends. Light toning to the spine with some mild fading of the red lettering. Light edge wear with a few small rubs in places. The wrapper looks very striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. Jan Morris' travel classic, now increasingly elusive as the first edition. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
