Heavy book, dark brown cloth, gilt lettering dulled on spine, 647 lightly browned pages plus brief biographical note, section of b/w photos of modern conductors and musicians. Foreword by Leopold Stokowski with his facsmile signature. Very slight surface wear to tips, spine very slightly faded. Good, considering it is an ex-library.
