Maison Quantin. Paris. - No date. 1887. FIRST ILLUSTRATED EDITION. Small 4to. (9.3 x 6.5 inches). Beautifully illustrated with ten etchings after Poirson. Finely bound by Zaehnsdorf in early half dark brown morocco. Spine with raised bands with floral gilt roll design. Compartments ruled and lettered in gilt. Floral patterned paper on the boards and endpapers. Top edge gilt, the others untrimmed. Original stiff paper wraps bound in. A very good copy in an attractive late nineteenth century leather binding that has some very light wear to the edges but is overall very good indeed.

Woodcut title vignettes (printer's device?), initials, and endpiece. Edited by Johann Erhard Kapp. Inscription in an old hand on one page of first part, and marginal notation on p. 110 of second part in same hand. Occasional mark in light blue or red pencil. In Near Fine Condition: vellum is slightly rubbed; marginalia, as described; otherwise clean and tight.

Illustrated by Pierre Falke with full and half page pochoir plates. Half leather with the original wrappers bound in. Number 45 of 50 copies on Holland with an extra suite of illustrations on chine, slight foxing to some pages of the extra suite. Text in French: 283 pages plus suite.A very nice copy in a contemporary binding, spine slightly faded with minimal rubbing to edges.

Finely bound in tan morocco, gilt tooled borders, gilt tooled spine in six compartments with leather labels, tooled edges and inner dentelles. Marbled edges and endpapers, index. A thin strip has been trimmed from the top edge of the title pages (removing a previous owner's name). A handsome set. Notes by George Gilfillan. (Poetry, Poetry).

Small octavo (11x16mm) hand bound collection of bookplate facsimiles. The spine is cloth with a small paper title and the boards are sturdy fiberboard. The 30+ unpaginated pages are secure in the binding. Each page has a design attached, some have been glued down. Most of these bookplates are black and white. Great reference material. Many of the facsimile plates have text on their backside leading me to suppose they were taken from a periodical featuring Ex Libris plates.
