About This Item

New York, 1840. Fine. Proof of the wood engraving that would appear in the "Family Magazine" in 1840. It shows the Steamer Morse under full steam, with the Williamsburgh waterfront in the distance. The Morse plied the route between New York City and Williamsburgh. Williamsburgh became a town in 1840 and dropped the "h" at the end of its name in 1852. 10 1/4 x 6 1/2"
