Views in Devonshire and Cornwall by BESLEY, Henry - 1861

Exeter, 1861. 60 tissue guarded vignette steel engraved plates. Inner hinges reinforced. Original pictorial gilt cloth rubbed rebacked wih the spine relaid. Views generally in clean condition free of any foxing. Henry Besley the Exeter publisher was very prolific during a twenty-five year period. He published an extensive number of beautiful views of Cornwall and Devon. These he published in sets of six, twelve, eighteen and so forth to a maximum of sixty plates. He also published in two sizes : oblong 8vo and oblong 4to. What we offer here is the large size set of views, with 37 views of Devonshire, 23 being of Cornwall.. First Edit. Original Cloth.
