THE VILLAGE MAGAZINE [wrapper title]

by Lindsay, Vachel

  • Used
[Springfield: Printed for the Author by Jeffersons Printing Co., 1925. 168pp. Quarto. Pictorial wrappers. Printed text, as well as text in facsimile of the author's manuscript, and illustrations. Wrappers somewhat soiled, spine chipped with some surface loss and repairs, a bit musty, marginal dust smudging to first few leaves, a creased tear in fore-margin of one leaf; nonetheless, a sound copy. The third incarnation of Lindsay's famous one- man vehicle, and likely an example of the second impression of that version ("I want these two hundred copies to last till January first, 1926 ..."). The first "issue" was printed in 1910, then a revised and expanded form appeared in 1920. It was printed twice in this format, with additions, in 1925.
