London: Cambridge University Press, 1942. Second Edition. Softcover (18.5 x 12.5cm), pp. (28); beige wrapes with lettering and border on the front cover in purple.

Head and tail of spine chipped; spine has browned and is a touch brittle with age; edges of text block gently dust toned; wraps a little toned with faint scuff marks; front cover lightly foxed; 3 x 3mm tear without loss at gutter of endpaper and first page; previous owner's inscription on first page; faint creasing to the top and bottom margins, pages are otherwise clean and bright throughout. The Rede Lecture is an annual lecture given at the University of Cambridge. This is the text of E.M. Forster's Rede Lecture on Virginia Woolf, delivered on May 29, 1941.
