NY: Atheneum, 1965. First edition, first prnt. Perfect-bound illustrated wraps. Inscribed by Hollander to Allen Ginsberg on the title page. "for Allen with all my love and gratitude for everything John April 1966." Spine ends touched, begining extremity toning on wraps and short notation mark next to one stanza of "Waiting." Tight copy in Very Good condition. Hollander and Ginsberg were students at Columbia and since those days Hollander has acknowledged Ginsberg as his "poetic mentor." The autobiographical poems in this collection include the well-known "Helicon" in which Gisnberg tells Hollander (several times) that he is "searching for 'the true cadence' " as well as where his can get "five dollars a pint,/ No kickback to the interne, either" for blood for walking around money. . Inscribed & Dated by Author. First Edition. Glossy Pictoral Wraps. Very Good/Not Issued. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Association Copy.
