Ex Lib with some library marking on front end papers.But you weren't buying this book for its looks. You want the illustration of General Logan, in his top hat running with rifle to join the troops , his account of 15 battles of the civil war in the west, including Atlanta and Vicksburg, the 25 illustrations, the information on soldiers in the war of 1812 and other wars. The boards and spine have moderate wear to the edges and extremities. The points are worn through, and a small edge losses to the spine. It appears that the front board may have been reattached. Having noted the above this is a beautiful copy. The decoratively speckled edge of the block is attractive. The medallion and gilt lettering are bright. The pages and endpages are clean, with no markings or folds. The color frontispiece and tissue guard are pristine. Not ex-lib. No remainder mark. 705 pages with index. Illustrations throughout.
