Narrow duodecimo in original dark brown leather boards; VG/G; six-band embossed spine rebound in dark brown leatherette with burgundy frame and gold letters and gilt; original boards with shelf wear around edges and tiny indentations; binding strong due to rebound spine; boards' interiors soiled; ex-libris stamps and inscriptions on title page; paper faded and slightly foxed; text clean and very readable with occasional smaller print; edges very dusty; few full page engravings; one folded map of Mont Carmel and Caifa; contains a description of Arabia, Mecca, Sanaa, Oman and Bahrain; this journey was commissioned by King Louis XIV for Monsignor Rouille, Finance Minister; in FRENCH; app. 350 pages; shelved in Case 9.
