Hard Cover. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall This is a Good copy of Mary Oliver's Scarce First book in its First American Edition with 19 new poems not in the rare first edition published in England. The dust jacket is present, reradable and covers the book. It is also not price clipped. However it shows wear at all extremities. We've protected it in a clear cover. A former owner's name is written on the front free endpaper.Still, a nice copy of a hard-to-find edition of Oliver's first book. The author won many awards for her work and died in January of this year. .

First American edition, and first edition thus (first expanded edition), wrappered issue, published simultaneously in cloth issue and softbound issue. Octavo. Cream-colored wrappers. Very slightly rubbed at extremities of yapped edges, else a fine, bright copy. Advance Review Copy, issued with a special slip noting this as an "examination copy for your professional examination." Author's first book. This American edition contains 19 new poems not included in the English edition (London: J. M. Dent 1963). A very scarce publication with the publisher's review slip, the only ‘professional' educational review copy that we have examined of this title.

Signed twice by Mary Oliver, once on the half-title page and again on the title page. Fine in a near fine dust jacket with light shelfwear. Jacket design by Janet Halverson.
