"Mr. Ficklin, from the Select Committee on the subject, submitted the following report: the Select Committee, to whom had been referred certain memorials of sundry citizens of Indiana and other states, etc., praying a grant of land to enable the State of Indiana to construct the cross-cut and southern portion of the Central Canal to connect the Wabash and Erie Canal and the Ohio River, as also the Senate bill providing for the same, ask leave to report ..." etc.
