About This Item

Kraków: Instytut Architektury, 2016 8vo (22 cm), 162 pp, Laminated wrappers. In Polish. The book is the first monograph on Wacław Nowakowski (1888-1955), of one of the most important Kraków architects of the first half of the 20th century. Through the ouevres of this architect is possible to reconstruct the architecture of the Second Polish Republic: from the traditionalist trends of the early 1920s, through art deco, expressionism, semi-modernism to functionalism and monumentality of the years of the 1930th. The book consists of two parts: the biographical essay and the catalogue, in which objects designed by Wacław Nowakowski are arranged according to the buildings' types.
