About This Item

New York, NY, USA: Harper & Brothers Publishers, 1850. Poor to Fair condition Hardcover 12mo (7" tall exactly) with no dust jacket, 1850, 1st edition. This red textured hardcover has been through the (Civil) war and looks like it. There are what appear to be rings of oil lamp tar on the front board. Both boards are soiled, bumped, rubbed through at the tips. Pencil writing on both PDEs, and the front FFEP has been excised. Both hinges are cracked, but the binding is not shaken. There is a cigarette burn through pages 114-126. This little book is a piece of history. ANTIQUE. First Edition. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6" - 7" tall. Book.
