About This Item
Philadelphia: J.B. Lippincott, 1947. First Edition. First Edition. Basis for Francois Truffaut's 1969 film noir, "Mississippi Mermaid" ("La Sirene du Mississippi"), starring Catherine Deneuve and Jean-Paul Belmondo; and more recently the 2001 neo-noir, "Original Sin," starring Antonio Banderas and Angelina Jolie.
Near Fine in a bright, Very Good plus dust jacket. Light fading to the board edges, with a rich, unfaded topstain. Jacket has a few nicks and short closed tears, and light foxing to the verso, but with a completely unfaded spine, making this a scarce example in our experience.
Nevins, p. 529. Spicer, p. 456.
