About This Item
(London: Collins, 1979). 8vo; original pale green boards; laminated pictorial dustwrapper; pp. 253, incl. index; maps; full-colour photographic plates. Dustwrapper a little sunned and edgeworn, with suggestion of dampstaining to edges of reverse side; a little spotting to endpapers and page edges. Good to very good condition. "Alan Goodall, a biologist, has had the fortune to conduct the first study to compare two populations of gorillas which have become habituated to man. . . . This book builds up an enthralling picture of gorillas in their forest home: how they find their food and what they eat, how they behave with each other, how populations differ in habit and, above all, how they are now dependent upon, and yet threatened by, man." .
