London: Freedom Press, 1943. First Edition. Paperback. Quarto (25cm). Printed, staple-bound self-wrappers; 4pp. On newsprint, with expected aging at margins; else Very Good. This is a 4-pp (bifolium) supplement (but bearing regular issue numbering), issued on the occasion of the Lanarkshire Mine Strike. Lengthy unsigned article with strike news and commentary. From 1941-45, War Commentary was the principal serial publication of Britain's venerable anarchist publisher, The Freedom Press. War Commentary was a successor publication to the periodicals Spain & The World and Revolt; after the war it was renamed Freedom, under which title it remained in print until 2014. Editorship is uncredited, but has been attributed Mary Louise Berneri and Vernon Richards (aka Vero Recchioni). Strongly pacifist in outlook, the paper was constantly under attack from authorities during the war and relatively few original issues have survived.
