Washington, DC: Government Printing Office, 1886. Hardcover. Small 4to. Complete 2-volume set. Rebound in burgundy buckram with gilt spine lettering. viii, 1242pp; 1112pp. Marbled page edges. Fine. Slightest bit of age toning to original text blocks, which are near fine. Handsome, massive 2-volume subset of this self-contained portion of what's known simply as the "O.R." or "Official Records." These two volumes contain exhaustive coverage of "Morgan's Raid / Perryville" (as giltstamped on each spine) -- this being Chapter XXVIII of the overall set, described on the contents page as "Operations in Kentucky, Middle and East Tennessee, North Alabama, and Southwest Virginia." Part I consists of "Reports" and Part II of "Correspondence, Etc." First edition (49th Congress, 1st Session, Mis. Doc. No. 273 and Mis. Doc. No. 338). An exceptionally clean, tight, handsome set in outstanding condition.
