King, a West Point graduate who served in the Indian Wars under George Crook, wrote and edited 60 novels and wrote several scripts for Buffalo Bill Cody's silent films. His military experience greatly influenced his writing. This book provides great insight into the life and times of an Indian Wars Period Frontier Officer.
