Description:
F. Warne & Col., London, n.d. (ca. 1870). Acceptable. Costumes depicted on color plates within suggest late1860's. Book was meant to be a cut-out book for children but only one of the six plates has been touched--and that has a large open tear on one corner rather than any attempt to cut out any of the depicted objects. The wrapper is smudged and dog-eared, particularly the back of the wrapper with list of "Warne's Nursery literature" with a small open tear and four closed tears--some stains. There are smudges on margins of the plates but all but the torn one are beautiful and unfaded, and suitable for framing.

Stiff card wraps printed in color; 12pp. chromolithographed on one side only by Kronheim and Company, showing the Zoological Gardens; Covent Garden Market; Railway Station; Country Fair; Farm-Yard and Seaside, "all of them places we like to visit during Our Holidays". . A book for cutting out and gluing pieces into place. This has already been completed by a very careful child. Light soil, else a very good copy with all of the illustrations intact. One of a series of four books printed by Kronheim for Warne. Scarce.
