Given at Our Court at Windsor, 25 May 1827. 2 pp. 14 x 9 inches, folded, Royal wafer seal affixed, with an integral leaf addressed to Sir Henry Warde, Governor and Commander in Chief of the Island of Barbados, marked Duplicate (documents were sent overseas in duplicate, in case of loss at sea). A fine original Warrant signed by the Prince Regent [later King George IV (reigned 1820-1830)]. William Huskisson (1770-1830), statesman, the first man to be killed by a steam locomotive, was run down, seeming like a man bewildered, by the engine Rocket at the opening of the Liverpool to Manchester railway. James Dottin Maycock M.D.(d.1837) was the compiler of Flora Barbadensis: a catalogue of plants, indigenous, naturalized, and cultivated, in Barbados : to which is prefixed, a geological description of the Island (1830).
