Watership Down by Richard Adams - 1972

Hardcover with dust jacket, this is a First edition, Third printing copy. Published by Macmillan, 1972. 428 pages including the rabbit lapine glossary. The dust jacket is intact, it is not price clipped, original price of $6.95 is printed on the top corner of the front flap. There is a one inch long closed tear at the top edge of the jacket. It has been protected with a clear, removable, Brodart brand cover. A short closed tear at the bottom front edge, about 1/8 inch tall, one at the right side near the spine as well, and a light crease at the lower right corner. Sturdy cream colored boards over beige cloth covered spine. Author's name and title imprinted in gold on the spine, and name on the cover as well, all letters are crisp and not rubbed or worn. Boards are flat and the corners are not bumped or worn. No edge wear to the boards or spine ends. A couple of smudge marks to the edge of the text on the fore edge, a light spot of discoloration at the top edge, one dot of foxing to the bottom edge. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. This is not a remainder, not a library copy. One owner, a collector of Science Fiction and Fantasy classics. A very clean copy.
