Ostrovsky was approached by Mossad operatives to join the assassination unit (the Kidon) of the Israeli spy organization. This book is an account of his experiences and an exposé of the Mossad. This first state of the first Canadian edition has the unusual Erratum slip laid -in which reprints the pages 309, 310, 312, 319 and 320. According to the Erratum: "Circumstances subsequent to the printing of (this book) have caused us to remove certain passages within pages 309-312 and 319-320, including the whole of page 311. Those pages have been removed and are reprinted along with this erratum statement with the passages deleted". Inspection of the book itself shows that these pages have been neatly excised; inspection of the Erratum shows that all the pages have been reprinted as stated with the exception of page 311.
