Red cloth binding with beveled boards, gilt lettering on spine and cover. Condition of the book is VERY GOOD: Very light wear to covers and spine, minimal sun darkening to spine. Edges of text block lightly foxed, several pages in on front and rear are foxed, foxing appears at the edges of some pages, binding is tight.

Original red cloth with gilt lettering front and spine, gilt decoration lower front cover. The plates are clean, not damaged, and do not have any library markings or stamps. Generally a clean, sound example of the book. The end-pages are the original coated green paper. The original tissue guards are present and browned as usual. The binding is sound and not loose or cracked. In what appeared to be a fully equipped pool, people could be seen under the water, standing, talking and moving around seemingly without any need to come up for air. In Carlo Rocchi Bilancini’s photographs, some of these people finally surface. Untouched by their underwater ordeal, they continue their subacqueous activities as if nothing had happened." Fine.
