His novels deal with tragic characters, dealing with passions and social circumstances, which often stand against each other. Condition: In a signed half calf binding with cloth to the boards. A little light rubbing to the joints and to the extremities, causing a small amount of loss of leather to some volumes. Minor marking to the boards. Light bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with the odd spot, mostly to the first and last few pages. Some pages uncut to the fore edge. Overall Condition: Near Fine.
