(Hillsboro, Texas): Hill Junior College, 1971. Octavo. 99 pages, bibliography, index, notes, folding map of where Waller's Texas Cavalry campaigned. A previously neglected Confederate Cavalry Battalion now stands alongside of Hood's Brigade, Terry's Rangers, and Waul's Legion. It uses original diary material. When Waller's men captured the Federal gunboat Diana and then had the engagement at Camp Bisland, followed by the Federal Red River Campaign in 1864 and their final engagement on May 3, 1865 (almost a month after Lee's surrender at Appomattox). An important picture of the Texas Confederate Cavalry action toward the end and just after the Civil War's end. Bound in white paper covered boards lettered and decorated in black, red and blue. A very good copy.
