HATFIELD BOOKS AND MEMORABILIA, a five star seller, presents a RARE JACKETED edition of THE WESTERNERS, PHOTO-PLAY EDITION by STEWART EDWARD WHITE. New York: Grosset and Dunlap, copyright 1900 and 1901 by Stewart Edward White (only dates in book). The ORIGINAL DUST JACKET is complete, except for half of the bottom half of the front flap. The film came out in 1919, directed by Edward Sloman. Condition: PAGES = VERY GOOD: medium yellowed, corners sharp, pages tight, print sharp, no tears, no marks, except previous owners small label on fep. COVER = VERY GOOD MINUS: worn down by rubbing, some discoloration on front around picture and title, spine very tight, bending to top and bottom of spine. ORIGINAL JACKET = FAIR: The 2 flaps are separated, with bottom half of front flap missing, back flap complete, front/back complete and readable, with considerable wear, chipping, and a few tears. 5" x 7 1'2", 344 pages plus interesting ads for other publications. Photo pages are not numbered, so the 7 front/back photo pages plus one additional opposite the title page add up to 15 photos. Noted book appraiser JAMES BEATTIE values this copy at $230.00.
