New York: The Century Co., 1894. 1894 First Edition, with 1894 printed on title page. VERY GOOD+ hardcover, no jacket. A clean, well-bound copy. Previous owner (Grace H. Graef) and small penned name on front pasted endpaper, same owner name and date, Jan. 27th 1895, penned on first blank leaf. No other markings, pages crisp and near fine. Top edge gilt. Olive green cloth hardcover, titles gilt-stamped on front and spine also has decorative stamping in gilt, pink and dark green on spine and front cover - with image of a young girl on the front. The same image appears on rear cover, stamped only in dark green. Cover is clean with moderate edge wear, front cover corners bumped and some staining and and scuffing to bottom of spine. Binidng and hinges intacet and straight. Charming, fun-to-read poems profusely illustrated with black and white artwork by many artists, several full page including the frontispiece by Frank French. 5-1/4 x 7-3/4". xvi + 255 pages. First Edition. Half-Leather. Very Good+/Not Issued. Illus. by Various.
