Illustrated with 17 photographs on 8 pages. 5.75" x 8.25" pp. [1-2] 3 - 316. Written prior to Reagan's successful 1966 run for Governor of California, this book recounts Reagan's career in Hollywood. The title refers to his classic line in the movie, "Kings Row" when he is lying in a hospital bed, reaches down and realizes his legs have been amputated. Light toning on jacket flaps and rear cover. Date (Tues. July 27, 1965) in other handwriting on signed endpaper. Near Fine in a Fine dustwrapper. "It is an unwritten rule of show business that you must never show "need" - you are always flush and only interested in working for the love of the game." (p. 247).
