Sangorski and Sutcliffe Fine binding of Navy blue full leather with gilt titles and borders to the front cover. Five raised bands to the spine with gilt titles and heavy gilt decoration to the compartments. Top page edge gilt, other edges rough trimmed, mid brown end-papers. Condition very good, corners hinges and spine ends rubbed, hinges a bit loose, pages slightly toned else very clean throughout. With frontispiece portrait. "Compiled from the Hitherto Unpublished Correspondence of Elizabeth, Viscountess Melbourne, and Emily Lamb, Countess Cowper, Afterwards Viscountess Palmerston" Presentation copy inscribed by the author to Lady Hodder Williams, the wife of the Publisher Hodder. "To Lady Hodder Williams. Without whose kind help this book could not have been published - by her husband. From Mabell Airlie. Dec 1921." Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall
