Boston: Estes and Lauriat, 1887 First printing from this publisher, this edition. A nice example of this classic in dark blue cloth bds., a nice ornately illustrated and bright binding in gilt. 403 illustrated pages. 60 woodcuts and an additional 11 photogravures which were not included in the previous editions. The photo plates are printed on very stiff stock and are alone worth the book price for their quality and historical nature. One in particular shows 2 men lounging along the top and side of a boulder overlooking Lake Winnepiseogee (Winnipesaukee) of simply 'Lake Winni' as locals call it. Also one of the old Crawford House with the train and tracks beside it, another rare view. Photos available. . Very Good+. Bagged for Posterity.
