First edition, inscribed by the author "To Linda Lynneberg - With best wishes - Nathaniel Branden 10/25/62" and additionally with Barbara Branden's signature below. The recipient of this title was Linda Lynneberg, a Danish-American lifelong friend to Rand, to whom Rand inscribed many of her own titles (see pics; the book inscribed by Rand is also available). 8vo, publisher's blue cloth, spine silver- and gilt-stamped, few spots to front and rear covers; dust jacket, dust soiling, tips of spine panel with shallow chips and closed tears, folds rubbed, small nicks to fold corners. A highly collectible True first Edition copy of the first non-fiction presentation of Ayn Rand's central ideas, accompanied by a biographical sketch by Barbara Branden, who would become Rand's first biographer with The Passion of Ayn Rand (1986), later made into a movie.
