(B&W photographic plates) Advice for would-be film artists (mostly actors), from the most famous husband-and-wife screenwriting team of their day (although by all accounts Miss Loos brought a lot more talent to the partnership; as she herself later put it, "what a terrible let down it [was] to find out that I was smarter than he was"). The married co-authors of *How To Write Screenplays* team up again to teach you how to make it onto the big screen. Better known for her later novel *Gentlemen Prefer Blondes,* Loos was a highly successful screenwriter. A nice copy.

Spine is rounded but I think that is the way it was originally bound. Title and names in black. A scratch mark in front cover and very light soiling. Hinges inside covers are good. A bit of minor foxing and a few smudges. Slight crack between title page and frontispiece photograph which shows the authors reading the scenarios. Originally published by The James A.
