About This Item
The First UK printing published by Ernest Benn Limited., London in 1967 - 'A Moorhen Book'. The BOOK is in near Fine condition with just a small bump to the lower rear corner. Free from inscriptions and erasures. Light spotting to the text-block. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good+ condition. Light rubbing to the folds, edges and corners in places. A small chip to the upper front edge. A very light stain to the lower section of the rear flap and two small closed tears to the upper rear edge with associated creasing. The wrapper looks very striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. The book has been signed (without dedication) by the author to the title page: 'D.J. Watkins-Pitchford, 'BB''. One of 'BB''s scarcest children's books with the vast majority ending up in the library system. Illustrated throughout in B/W by the author. The story of Tigger Thomas and his battle with a huge carp. Extremely elusive with such attributes, this being only the second title that we have handled to date. Collectible. More images available on request. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
