London: Ward, Lock & Co Limited, 1956. 1st Edition. Black Boards. Very Good/Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 316pp. First edition with wrapper. Gilt embossed lettering tot he spine. The cloth at the tail of the spine is lightly bumped. The leaves of 5 page corners are lightly turned. Light foxing to the upper fore edges and slightly to the front fore edges. Clean and tight. Dust wrapper not price clipped. A few slight niks to the head and tail of the spine of the wrapper with a little associated rubbing. One other short tear expertly repaired. No loss. Light crease to the length of the spine of the wrapper. The wrapper has the title Wife Apparent printed over the original title of Lady In Waiting on the spine of the wrapper and the front of the wrapper. Clean and tight. A very good copy.
