Original half morocco on green cloth, 5 raised bands, gilt title and flower motifs to spine. All edges marbled matching the marbled endpapers. Vol.1. Half title, Colour frontis laid on, Title, pp199, 96 black and white full page illustrations and many smaller illustrations within text. Vol. 2. Colour frontis laid on, title, pp200, 96 black and white full page illustrations and many smaller illustrations within text. Bindings rubbed at edges. Vol. 1, has a red ink cross mark across text on page 96 and on facing blank verso of plate 49. Plate 21 of volume two is loose. Binding is tight and all pages are strong and bright. An attractive pair of books presented in a style which captures the turn of the 19th/20th century traditional binding style and the use of photography as a modern book illustration tool.
