Full green cloth. 359 pp. Bumped to spine head and upper front corner. A few small spots to fore edge of text block. Dust jacket is sunned to spine, offset panel to front cover, chafing to covers, light wear and bumping to edges. Set in eastern Ontario, the story has a prologue set in the atmosphere of a village at a time just before the First World War and opens in a town, Rossac, on the St. Lawrence River, following the interlinking lives of characters from the endof the Second World War through the 1950s, and into the "new morality" of the 1960s and 1970s.
