London: Methuen & Co. Ltd, 1926. First edition, first printing. Hardcover. Near fine/Good. Ernest H. Shepherd. First edition, first printing. Illustrated by Ernest H. Shepard. Original bottle-green cloth, gilt spine titles, gilt border on the upper board with a vignette of Christopher Robin and Pooh; top edge gilt. Pictorial endpapers. Trance of edgewear, minor ghosting to the endpapers, else near fine. The dustwrapper has been reinforced from within at the folds, is nicked at spine tips, is lightly soiled, and has a scrape on the reverse affecting the image, else good. It is the first state jacket with '117th thousand' on the rear flap and the 7/6 price on the spine.

Synopsis

The Bear of Very Little Brain and his friends from the Hundred Acre Wood have delighted generations of readers since Winnie-the-Pooh was first published in 1926. Three cheers for Pooh!
