Synopsis

In the old days, winter drove people indoors to a world without television or radio, and stories would be told in front of the fire as everyone gathered around. The Winter Room is set in the early 1900's, and is the story of a family listening to their Uncle David tell old blood and glory tales of their Viking ancestry as well as their recent family history.   Newbery Honor (1990)
