The First Edition of this book was withdrawn from circulation almost as soon as it was published, presumably because no acknowledgements are made to publishers, etc. Therefore the book is extremely rare, especially for Conrad collectors. [It was later reprinted, but our offering is the true First Edition]. Mounted on the front free endpaper is a slip of paper handwritten as follows: "My dearest love to you, I am and always shall be, Affectionately yours, M. Harriet M. Capes. There are 2 clippings from former dealers' catalogues also pasted down in front. One of the clippings calls the book "Excessively Rare," and makes the claim that they are offering this copy of the book for sale for the first time. The cover cloth has a few wrinkles, but the entire book is close to Very Good.. Signed by Author. First Edition. Cloth. Very Good Minus/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
