About This Item

London: Michael Joseph. Near Fine in Very Good dust jacket. 1954. First British Edition. Hardcover. 222 pages; Clean and secure in original blue cloth binding in very good dustjacket with some minor wear at spine ends and light toning to rear panel of dustjacket. During the Occupation of Japan at the conclusion of World War II, Morris, an army officer, was sent to Japan where he was assigned the plum job of managing Tokyo's famous Imperial Hotel as a billet for Army Officers designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. When he was demobilized in 1946, he stayed on to manage the hotel for several more years. This book relates his experiences and observations over those years. Fascinating. .
