DJ has three tears to edges of rear panel, otherwise shows very little wear; in Brodart archival cover. Journalist Frank Moraes was born in India in 1907 and spent most of his life there. He began his career as a journalist with the Times of India in 1934, moved to the Times of Ceylon after WW2, and became editor-in-chief of the Indian Expess in 1957. This book combines a personal memoir with a history of India in the years leading up to and following its independence in 1947. Shipping weight 2 lbs.. First US Edition. . VG-/VG. 21½ X 14½ cm.
