About This Item

New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1865. A collection of 32 works first published in 1855. This is a Very Good (Plus) copy of the "Author's Authorized Edition" in a posthumous issue with a much better binding than normally seen. Marbled paper boards with spine and tips of maroon leather. Five raised bands on the spine with gilt decorations; black labels with titling in gilt. Clean text; frontis illustration and 453 pages, all edges marbled. There is rubbing to the margins and the spine labels have chipped, with some loss (now "Irv's Works") Despite these noted defects, the book remains quite attractive, with a particularly bright and clear textblock.. Later Printing. Half-Leather. Very Good (Plus)/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
