London: John W. Parker, 1839. Second Edition. Cloth Bound. Good. 154 p. + 6 p. of ads. 18 cm. Cloth hardcover has blank impressing and lettering on faded spine. Some wear, soiling, bumped corners. Soiling of front endpapers. Ink signature from 1849 on front free endpaper. Author's name pencilled on title page and occasional pencil marks in margin. Dark mark on page 148 does not obliterate text. Occasional foxing. Topics include maternal influence, the influence of women on society, the proper sphere for the influence of women, the education of women, love and marriage, maternal love, the influence of personal character, the means of securing personal influence, missionary spirit, religion. Based on "Sur l'education des meres" by Aime Martin with extracts from her work.
