In publisher's light green cloth over boards with colorful front pastedown, this is a FIRST EDITION, but slightly later printing (blank endpapers) from Reilly & Lee c. 1940s, in 318 pages with marvelous black-and-white illustrations throughout, decorative endpapers. Condition is downgraded to only Fair-Good due to external wear: cloth is heavily frayed at both ends of spine & worn at corners to underlying boards. Random soiling, large stain on rear board.Front pastedown is bright, with minimal edgewear. Both hinges cracked; text block secure, but wobbly.
